Educating Rita at The Everyman Theatre

Originally staged outside in the Minack Theatre, Cornwall, to rave reviews, Olivier and Tony Award-winning producer David Pugh is bringing Willy Russell’s much-loved comedy, Educating Rita, inside to the Everyman Theatre. The play follows married hairdresser Rita (Jessica Johnson) who enrols on a university course to expand her horizons however little does she realise where the journey will take her. Her tutor Frank (Stephen Tompkinson) is a frustrated poet, brilliant academic and dedicated drinker, who’s less than enthusiastic about taking Rita on, but the two soon realise how much they have to teach each other.
